Rackspace has OpenStack deployed on Tens of Thousands of nodes in several data centers and customers depend on it running smoothly. In order to deliver the best possible experience, Rackspace has adjusted their monitoring approach and techniques to accommodate the continued growth of hypervisors and the addition of new data centers. In this talk, Rackspace will provide background on our initial attempts to monitor an OpenStack cluster, the challenges of growth and our current state, and our vision for monitoring in the I cycle.
