The flexibility of the OpenStack architecture is key to fitting into the enterprise data center and, at the same time, can present a challenge for the data center teams seeking a prescriptive, and optimal configuration. Using two installations from the insurance and financial services companies, this session will outline some real-world integration challenges and prescriptive solutions to integrate OpenStack in these environments.
We will:
- Review some of the enterprise requirements which led to key architectural decision points for the OpenStack configuration.
- Highlight unique and innovative use cases and designs that were enabled by OpenStack
- Discuss specific approaches to leveraging existing enterprise assets, such as ActiveDirectory, storage, and networking.
- Review the lessons learned and how they could be simplified by leveraging features of Havana and future releases of OpenStack.
The audience should gain a broader perspective on how OpenStack is being integrated in enterprise data centers today.
