Alex is the co-founder of Mirantis, the guy who came up with the company name Mirantis and now serves as the company s Chairman and Chief Community Officer. He is also a member of the Board of the OpenStack Foundation Alex is passionate about OpenStack s quest to become the platform of choice for building the cloud infrastructures of the future. Since OpenStack is as much a social project as it is an engineering phenomenon, Alex is leading Mirantis' social community effort.

A serial entrepreneur for many years prior to Mirantis, Alex co-founded, grew and successfully exited RSI Group, a top-3 software company in the receivables management space (now part of FICA Corporation). He also co-founded Ventra Employment, currently a top-5 HR services company in Russia. Alex has a MS in Computer Engineering from Santa Clara University and a BS in Applied Math from the Russian Academy of Oil and Gas.
